For your bumpers.
Australopithecus Republicanus boisei brain-buckets must die off.
The tsunami of populist rage coursing through America is bigger than Daschle’s overdue tax bill, bigger than John Thain’s trash can, bigger than any bailed-out C.E.O.’s bonus. It’s even bigger than the Obama phenomenon itself. It could maim the president’s best-laid plans and what remains of our economy if he doesn’t get in front of the mounting public anger.
Now more than ever, the president must inspire confidence and stave off panic. As Friday’s new unemployment figures showed, the economy kept plummeting while Congress postured. Though Obama is a genius at building public support, he is not Jesus and he can’t do it all alone.
Um. They nailed Jesus to a cross. His “public support” vanished the moment the knives came out. The bitch was, “You saved others, why can’t you save yourself?” No, Obama isn’t Jesus. But like Jesus, Obama has put the burden on the individual to get their own affairs in order, but also to understand, support, and follow his leadership and ideals, i.e.: “Love one another”; “we’re all in this together.”
The republicans have already admitted they want Obama to fail… even at the cost of losing our economy. The more his program is gutted the more chance that it will fail and we will have a complete depression; then [Sen.] Ensign will say, “See. I told you Obama’s plans wouldn’t work. We just need more tax cuts and a “republican majority”. . .while they plan to demolish our democracy and replace it with a corporatocracy of the very wealthy and the working poor and a police state to protect their holdings.
Fuck what is politically correct. . . if we don’t start shooting these bastards they will continue to destroy our nation till our democracy and our constitution is unrecognizable. We must face being rid of them as they are no longer capable of governing beyond their self interests. They want to destroy good government and have spent 30 years getting it done, especially the last 8 years. Time to start bringing back the guillotines because there are 36 senators who are blocking and obstructing the progress of an entire nation.
Oh, it’s worse than that, but you’re on the right track. Death must come to their variously backward philosophies, gathered under the term “conservatism,” which are now in a pitched battle for their survival against the forces of progressive change.
Entrenched conservatism is just like an intransigent cult; it resists development, because real progress is certain to change or kill the cult itself; thus revision must always be forced upon it. What Obama needs to discover, and fast— is just what force will be effective in dislodging the degenerates and relegating them to the ass-heap of history.
We are witnessing, not so much the collapse of the Republican Party, as its slide into insanity. Granted, some (like my wife) believe it’s already collapsed. . . . Collapse, or craziness? I have my personal opinion. For truly: What was the GOP’s great accomplishment last week, about which they openly admitted they felt good? A show of enough “unity” to block the first stimulus package. That’s what put a spring back in their step: obstructing a desperately-needed solution to a problem rooted in their political philosophy.
“Yes, we helped cover your house with gasoline, and we paid private contractors to shoot flaming arrows at it, yes. But we don’t believe in Socialism, so we got the gang together— which wasn’t easy!— and had everyone stand in the street to keep the fire trucks away. Yay us! We feel good!”It is a severe strain on the mind to serve both good and evil. Unresolved conflicts destroy unity; and that’s exactly why we’re witnessing a collapse AND a slide into insanity.
It’s not an accident that the dwindling Republican base wants the party to look like, be like Sarah Palin in the future, assuming there actually is a future for the Republicans— you know— really trendy and attractive on the outside, and a bag of deranged idiot vipers on the inside.
There’s no immediate guarantee that a vicious and self-serving philosophy based on fear and hate will actually succumb to the forces of hope, fairness, and love during this current crisis. But such peace is attained by the continual stalwart assertion of the triumph of that
which is true, and this victory is achieved in the overcoming of evil with the potent force of good; no matter how long it takes.
I’ll take that bet, Nonnie, because I’m betting the judges of the universe courts have ways to get to the truth of the matter— in ways that don’t involve waterboarding and other forms of “harsh interrogation.” But regardless of what they claim is the truth, they’ll be held accountable for the truth that has actually been committed to their hands; and that’s where the shit hits the fan.
Having said that, I do agree that many of them are more distraught than depraved, perhaps just weak rather than wicked; and certainly ignorant of their ignorance. Sort of like the buffoon that visits your comments; ditto-heads that have never learned to use reason to discover truth; intellectual cowards afraid to honestly examine the truth and let it lead them, rather than the other way around. Still. Liars, haters, and intellectual cowards get no voice here, regardless of the reasons they’ve compromised the dignity of their personality.
i don’t think 99.9% of them are doing what they are doing out of any kind of belief in a political philosophy. they are just trying to save their own asses, so they feed the morons in their districts or states what they know they will respond to. they love to throw around the -ism labels, but i bet that most of them have absolutely no idea what any of those words mean.
Tyrants:
Welcome to the endangered species list.
