With a new ABC-WAPO poll showing 57% of voters supporting a public option, WAPO reports:
Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid is facing intensifying pressure from liberal lawmakers to revive a proposed government insurance plan before health-care reform legislation reaches the Senate floor, amid signs that moderate Democrats may be warming to the idea.”
Reid, the man who has the last word on whether a robust public option makes it into the merged HCR bill from the Finance and HELP committees on a 51 versus 60 vote margin, took off the gloves, laid down the law, and drew a line in the sand yesterday, proclaiming:
We’re leaning toward talking about a public option.
Take that, you obstructionist Rethuglican swine.
With Democrats like Harry Reid, we don’t really need the rethuglican’ts to hold things up. He seems to be doing a fine job all by himself.
Primary anyone?
