Glenn Beck tapping his lizard brain on health care reform
This week belongs almost exclusively to the Bekasaurus, for sheer histrionic, over the top, bat shit losing it, as the audio below reveals.
The context is the battle over health care reform, per a caller to his radio show. At about 1:25, the caller asks:
What the hell is wrong with you?
Now, that must have cut a little too close to Beck’s psychic pith. He answers in what must be one of the greatest psychological on-air meltdowns of all time. Before listening to his answer, I recommend that you first remove any small children or pets you may have in the room.
Seriously, this guy needs professional help.
Hard to focus on substance after that, so let me just address Beck’s ridicule of the caller’s claim that people are dying because of our sickly, sucky health care system.
Physicians for a National Health Program, which bills itself as “a single issue organization advocating a universal, comprehensive single-payer national health program” and has “more that 16,000 members and chapters across the United States” did a study that showed that in 2006 alone, some 22,000 people died unnecessarily in the USA because of a lack of adequate and available health care. Between 2000-2006, the total is an astounding 137,000.
Simply barbaric, especially for a country that considers itself the most advanced in the world.
Thanks Suzan:
Am a man, although like Chung Tzu I sometimes am given to wonder:
“I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man”
Tried accessing your profile a couple of times but my browser crashed each time…
Outstanding post, P.
You are da man today (and everyday – if you are a man – eh, whatever)!
