The Lost Sheep

Dr. James Dobson exposing gay troubadour and inanimate object, Sponge Bob. James Dobson cannot speak for me. Before God, as we all are, he may only speak for himself. If one thing could be clear about our relationship with God as a Father, it should be that he loves us as individuals, and he judges us as individuals. When Dr. …

Proving the inventiveness of one her key demographics, white Appalachian males, Billary supporter and Darwin Award candidate, Roary M. Plosion, shows his contribution to Billary’s impending victory speech at the Democratic National Convention.

What It Means To Be Human

ADAM and EVE   by Ernst Fuchs Our friend Sherry at A Feather Adrift has written another thought provoking essay on a range of religious issues. I’ve winnowed out several of her interesting questions for comment here. You will enjoy reading it  before you read this response. Is God fully omniscient in time and space? It is literally true that God …

WHO ARE YOU, REALLY?

There’s a fascinating article by Amanda Marcotte at PANDAGON, “My hands are mine, but my feet are my sister,” which recounts a most unusual anomaly among the naturally occurring vagaries of human gene blending. In the process of unfolding that amazing story, she somewhat tangentially observes: I don’t truck with the more superstitious need to have individuality strongly defined in …

A Selective Look at Breaking News. . .

Mmmmm. Let’s see.   • Oliver North is still a free man, as is Bush Senior, and Junior. • Several thousand little ones are making their way through warm canals, headed for the light of their first day. • Billions upon billions of waves are breaking their way onshore. • New fires are being set in the Amazon.   • …

Where the F Are We?

This morning, our solar system is a few billion years past the swing around the southern curvature of a great oval, so that we are just now advancing beyond the southeastern bend and are moving swiftly through the long and comparatively straightaway northern path. And for untold ages, the enormous aggregation of suns, black holes, planets and moons will pursue this almost direct northerly course.

Our world, Urantia belongs to a system which is well out towards the borderland of our local universe; and our local universe is at present traversing the periphery of Orvonton, the name of an enormous galactic system of which our world is a tiny part. Beyond us there are still others, but we are far removed in space from the physical systems which swing around the great circle in comparative proximity to the Great Source and Center.

Does that help?

I didn’t think so.

Try this:

Practically all of the starry realms visible to the naked eye on Urantia belong to the seventh section of the grand universe, the superuniverse of Orvonton. The vast Milky Way starry system represents the central nucleus of Orvonton, being largely beyond the borders of [our] local universe. This great aggregation of suns, dark islands of space, double stars, globular clusters, star clouds, spiral and other nebulae, together with myriads of individual planets, forms a watchlike, elongated-circular grouping of about one seventh of the inhabited evolutionary universes.

From the astronomical position of Urantia, as you look through the cross section of near-by systems to the great Milky Way, you observe that the spheres of Orvonton are traveling in a

Secular Science: As Backward As Fundamentalist Religion

The emerging mantra of the secular man-in-the-street is that ALL religious views are dangerous, not just the extreme ones.   The supposedly enlightened-by-science secular tools of modern arrogance and stupidity, are a lethal brew every bit as backward as antiquated fundamentalist religion. The arrogant assumptions of secular science and subsequently the thoughtless secularism of the man in the street pretend …
