In a letter to Catholics via Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League and one of John Hagee’s biggest critics, Hagee apologized for numerous inflammatory remarks. There’s more than a wiff of political expediency here. Senator Joe Lieberman, personal valet and coffee boy of Senator John McCain, was triangulating with Hagee long before McBush sought out and was granted Hagee’s endorsement. Given Lieberman’s slobbering over this nutball last July ’07, (See the video), it would be interesting to know if it Lieberman’s recommendation that McCain toady-up to this army of wingnuts.
